The Hierarch of Data Needs shows the balance between our need to deliver the clever sophisticated applications whilst balancing the needs to make sure that the data is clean, safe and well regulated.

Everyone loves a good data visualisation, but it is important to understand what makes a good visualisation. Here are my thoughts and some of my favourites.

The starting point for any Data Strategy is your organisation’s Business Strategy. They work in partnership, but the Business Strategy is the “source of truth” and the Data Strategy will show how your use of data will support it. If you’ve not got a defined Business Strategy, then you may wish to work that out first.

Why does any organisation need a Data Strategy and how does it complement the Business Strategy? Does it have a demonstrable value?
